The Brussels Tattoos Convention 2012 was a great moment for my project. I met a lot of great people (Fanny Maurer, Wilhelmina, Lowko, Lady Chips…) and saw amazing tattoo artists, such as Femke Fatale, who organized the convention in collaboration with Summer Ink Fest+ Urban Ink Fest+ Dutch Ladies Convention alternative model. She also works for Tattoo Planet magazine, H&M in sales, a tattoo model, and just like a cat, Femke has 9 lives.

One sentence that would sum her up: « Creative, hopeless romantic, mysterious« .

La Convention de Tatouages de Bruxelles 2012 fut un grand moment pour mon projet. J’ai rencontré beaucoup de gens formidables (Fanny Maurer, Wilhelmina, Lowko, Lady Chips …) et j’ai vu des tatoueurs étonnants, des modèles incroyables, comme Fatale Femke, qui a organisé la convention, en collaboration avec le Summer Ink Fest + Urban Ink Fest + Dutch Ladies convention pour modèles alternatifs . Elle travaille également pour le magazine Planète Tatouage, H & M dans la vente, modèle tatouée, et un peu comme un chat, Femke a 9 vies.

Une phrase qui la résumerait : « Créative, incorrigible romantique, mystérieux ».

I asked Femke a question about her tattoos, because I want to understand why tattoos are so addictive: « because it’s me, it’s my way of thinking. I live and breathe tattoos! It’s my way of expressing myself« . Tattoos are her ‘body diary’. Femke grew up in an artistic family, and tattoos are a continuation of her personal story. It is beyond the ink. It’s a culture and a way of life.

J’ai posé à Femke une question sur ses tatouages, parce que je veux comprendre pourquoi les tatouages sont tellement addictifs: « Parce que c’est moi, c’est ma façon de penser je vis et respire tatouages C’est ma façon de m’exprimer.! ». Les tatouages sont son « journal corps ». Femke a grandi dans une famille d’artistes, et les tatouages sont une continuation de son histoire personnelle. C’est au-delà de l’encre. C’est une culture et un mode de vie.
