Name / Nickname Justine Biard : LOOPKIN

Where do you live? Montreal

What is your occupation? I study communication at UQAM.

How old are you? 25

Who is/are your tattoo artist(s)?
1. TURBO ZÉRO in Nantes where the lovely Rocky Zéro, Mariette and Brice Poil work! They did: the pistols on my wrists, the “”un poing c’est tout””, the pieces on my feet and the embroidery tattoos on my ankles. They are brilliant artists and their parlour is really cool and decorated with Marie’s collection of PEZ dispensers (http://turbozero.fr).
2. BODKIN TATTOO in Montreal: Vincent Brun did the “”fennec plus ultra””, David Choquette did the umbrella and Dominique Bodkin the skull I drew myself and the 333!
3. ARNO SCHULTZ, who now works at PSC Tattoo, did my skull and hourglass tattoo at Imago (St-Laurent / MTL) and my tooth during the Montreal tattoo convention.

Can you tell us the stories behind your tattoos (number, placements…)? The only really meaningful one is the “Fennec plus ultra” one. It’s a tribute to my school friends. It got it one year ago. I was looking at Vincent’s flash book in Bodkin Tattoo when I came across a fennec fox! – that’s what I’m know as in my artist collective SKINJACKIN)

My other tattoos have more to do with artists I really liked, tattoo artists I met whose work I enjoyed: Arno who’s really good at old school tattoos, Marie – MARIETTE – for her original style mixing embroidery and tattoo, Brice Poil for his irresistible puns and his wonderful drawings. And Rocky Zéro who needs no introduction. I liked his work as a graffiti artist and his tattoos are just perfect. So intricate and detailed…

Can you tell us about your outfit? It’s hot today so I put on some shorts, it seemed like the wise thing to do considering I have two tattoos healing on my legs, trousers are a big no-no. And a bodysuit because it’s so comfy! It reminds me of when I was a kid.
